Range Industries was founded by three friends who felt it was time to look at a project that was worthwhile and had a measurable environmental impact at reducing plastic waste going to landfills. Founded by Matthew Darby, Hamish McCrostie and Byron Kelleher in 2003 Range Industries invested heavily in development of a new process that focused on the plastic waste that wasn't considered recyclable. Sadly we were only too aware of the amount of plastic that wasn't being recycled and the reasons why.

The reprocessing of plastic shopping bags were the obvious choice for us as they were a worldwide problem but at the same time a practical solution to many consumers for the carriage of goods. Paper bags are simply not an economical or environmental option as the amount of energy consumed in their production is ten fold compared to that of plastic bags.

With an excess of a trillion bags are consumed every year and growing!

A solution had to be found - and we did!

But we didn't stop there; this was just the tip of the iceberg! The amount of post consumer and industrial waste still going to landfill is staggering so we developed our technology further to include virtually all waste plastic!
